FORS and FORS Associate Transport Exchange Group (TEG) have announced they will be working together to offer their range of products and services to their respective members. TEG operates Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange, two of the UK’s largest, busiest and fastest growing independent freight exchanges.
The new initiative will combine the advantages of FORS with the profitability and business agility results of TEG. In the last 12 months, TEG members have been able to cut CO2 emissions by more than 9,000 tonnes thanks to a reduction in empty running. In the same 12 months, members carried in excess of £100m of extra paid work.
The benefit of the collaboration for FORS members is the chance to reduce their empty running by around 60%, extend their real-time capacity networks and get lower cost access to TEG services, such as Haulage Exchange, Courier Exchange and CX Euro. The Exchanges’ multi-vendor telematics integration will also be available to operators as standard. All parties, including FORS Champions, will benefit from the Exchanges’ extensive feedback, complaints and performance monitoring system.
“By working together in this way we can offer clear financial, operational, technical and ‘green’ advantages to all the key stakeholders” said Simon Bunegar, Head of Business Development for TEG, “whether you’re a courier, haulier, FORS Champion or just someone who sees the need for fewer unnecessary empty vehicles on the roads, this is a great opportunity to make a difference.”
