Today Transport for London (TfL) announced that it has signed a new contract with Sopra Steria to take over management of FORS on their behalf.
This means that from 9 January 2022, Sopra Steria will be responsible for full management of FORS, taking over from current administrators AECOM. You can read the full TfL press release here.
I would like to reassure you that this change will not affect your FORS membership status, nor how you contact the FORS team. The AECOM team are fully supporting Sopra Steria as they facilitate the transition. It will remain very much business as usual for FORS members. The revised FORS Standard Version 6.0, which is due for publication later this month, will go ahead as planned. FORS branding and the helpline number will also remain unchanged.
We have included some more specific questions and answers on the FORS website, which you can read here.
Since taking on the FORS contract in 2015, AECOM is proud to have developed FORS to become the go-to accreditation scheme for fleet operators across the UK.
Over the last seven years the FORS membership base has doubled, with strong relationships with operators and specifiers built through robust management, quality assurance, membership support processes and the highly regarded FORS Professional training portfolio.
We have delivered a high quality service and membership experience to FORS members, providing you with the tools to drive safety and efficiency despite these challenging times, and we are assured the new FORS managers will continue to provide excellent service to members going forward.
