FORS, which is now fully tailored to meet the needs of the coach and bus sector, is exhibiting at the event, due to take place on 2nd and 3rd October at the NEC, Birmingham. Throughout the show, the FORS team will offer 50 per cent off membership subscriptions, to new members who sign up on the stand.
The FORS team will be on hand throughout the exhibition to answer questions relating to the scheme, which seeks to help operators with passenger carrying vehicle fleets implement best practice to drive up safety standards and operate more efficiently.
FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme now in its 11th year of operation, with an ever-growing national membership representing the full spectrum of the transport industry. Members include commercial vehicle operators of all size and make-up. FORS makes provision for mopeds and motorcycles, cars, vans and light commercial vehicle fleets, heavy goods vehicles and buses and coaches, all supported by a comprehensive package of funded and discounted training. There are currently 49 FORS accredited operators with passenger carrying vehicles, equating to a total of 896 accredited vehicles.
FORS Director John Hix said, “FORS is about raising standards of operation across road transport, and we are proud of the successes we have had to date. Urban passenger carrying fleet managers are well aware of the need for increased environmental efficiencies, with local authorities charged with improving air pollution in our towns and cities.”
Coach & Bus UK will see more than 180 of the industry’s leading suppliers display over 80 of the latest vehicles technology and service innovations for the UK’s the coach, bus and mini-vehicle industry.
John Hix adds, “We look forward to meeting bus and coach operators at this year’s Coach & Bus UK, to show operators what FORS can do to help them meet the tough challenges they face, learning how to reduce fuel use and vehicle emissions, while keeping passengers, drivers and other road users safe.”
