GDPR and FORS Professional training

GDPR and FORS Professional training

On Friday 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, came into effect. GDPR imposes additional obligations on organisations and gives you extra rights about how your data is used.

We have recently published a new Privacy Statement on our website to give you more information on the data we hold on you, what we do with that data, who we share your data with and your new rights under GDPR.

We want you to know that FORS respects the information we hold on you and that we take the security of your information very seriously.

When attending FORS Professional training, you and your drivers will be asked for consent regarding passing of data to FORS, including driving licence number. Please remind your drivers that if they refuse to do this, they will not appear on the FORS Professional training register and this may cause issues where training is a mandatory contractual requirement for your organisation. They may indeed be turned away from site(s).

If you are submitting a Silver application and the training records cannot be checked on the FORS Professional training register because a driver has not given consent to share his records with FORS, then you will need to provide some other proof of attendance, such as a valid certificate of attendance.

To check your driver’s training records via the FORS Professional Training register, please log in to FORS online to access the register. If you have any queries about the register, amending or removing of manager or driver records, you can check the Frequently Asked Questions.
