FORS PROFESSIONAL TRAINING – GUIDANCE AND APPLICATION
Updated guidance for training providers and FORS operators
Whether you are an operator wishing to gain FORS approval of your in-house course, or a training provider wishing to deliver FORS Professional training or gain FORS approval of one of your courses, the ‘Guidance for training providers and FORS operators’ document provides all the necessary information regarding the application process, including eligibility.
Specific FORS Professional courses meet the FORS mandatory training requirements as set out at Annexes 1 and 2 of the FORS Standard version 5. Where indicated, FORS Approved alternatives can be used to meet specific training requirements.
The approval process for FORS Approved courses includes a review of your training material against the FORS Professional training objectives and learning outcomes – these can be found at pages 16, 17 and 18 of the document.
FORS approval can be gained in four categories:
- Road safety
- Security and terrorism
FORS approval information is available separately for manager training and work related road risk training for car drivers. FORS approval includes automatic approval of some well established industry courses. For more information, please check below:
