The route to becoming FORS accredited is dependent on the number of vehicles or operating centres. There are four routes to accreditation:<\/p>\n

Owner van driver accreditation (OVDA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Self-employed owner van drivers that operate in the UK only<\/p>\n

Single operating centre accreditation (SOCA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fleet operators with one\u00a0or more operating centres where each accredits separately and on its own merit<\/p>\n

Multi-operating centre accreditation (MOCA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fleet operators with two\u00a0or more operating centres where the same\u00a0policies and procedures are implemented throughout<\/p>\n

Internal audit fleet accreditation (IAFA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fleet operators with 16\u00a0or more operating centres, where an internal transport management quality audit process is in place across the whole operation<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Methods of attaining FORS accreditation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Single Operating Centre accreditation (SOCA)<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

Operators with one operating centre<\/p>\n

Operators with multiple operating centres, but the operating centres do not have the same policies and procedures throughout (every operating centre must register separately)<\/td>\n

One audit is required<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Multi-Operating Centre accreditation (MOCA)<\/strong><\/td>\nOperators with the same policies and procedures throughout<\/td>\n\n

Audit requirements per operating centre(s):<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2-4: two audits<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5-15: three audits<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 16+: 20 per cent sample is audited<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Internal audit fleet accreditation (IAFA)<\/strong><\/td>\nOperators with 16 or more operating centres demonstrating widespread applicability of the FORS Standard through an established internal transport management quality audit process<\/td>\n\n

\u00a0Audit requirements:<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A quality management systems audit will require to be undertaken (this should be done at least 30 days prior to
\nexpiry date)<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 20% of the operating centres shall be self-audited* throughout the year<\/p>\n

\u25c6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 100% of auditors shall undergo a witnessed audit by certification body throughout the year<\/p>\n

\u25c6 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 100% of the audit reports shall be quality checked throughout the year<\/p>\n
