For the purposes of this processing activity, TfL are the \u2018Controller\u2019 which means they hold the ultimate responsibility for the security and lawful processing of your personal data. Sopra Steria as the day-to-day managers of the FORS website and system are the \u2018Processor\u2019, which means we carry out the instructions given to us by TfL when processing your personal data. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soprasteria.co.uk\/footer\/privacy-notice\">Sopra Steria &#8211; Privacy Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/corporate\/privacy-and-cookies\/\">Transport for London \u2013 Privacy Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-does-fors-do\">What does FORS do?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Under contract to TfL, Sopra Steria provide a service called FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) which is a voluntary, industry recognised accreditation for transport and haulage businesses, which demonstrates their dedication to running their operations efficiently, safely, and in a manner as environmentally considerate as possible. Although this is a voluntary scheme, a vast number of some of the most relied upon transport businesses across the UK have a level of FORS accreditation (levels of Bronze, Silver &amp; Gold are accredited dependant on various standards) which often gives them the edge when customers choose their dedicated transport partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"who-are-tfl\">Who are TfL?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>TfL are the Controllers for the FORS scheme who carry the ultimate legal responsibility for the protection and use of your personal data. They have passed this responsibility on to Sopra Steria with a contract in place to ensure the continued protection of your personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"data-protection-principles\">Data protection principles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We actively comply with the data protection principles set out in Data Protection Laws. For example, the weather bureau&#8217;s software system contains daily weather data. The weather app on your phone \u201ctalks\u201d to this system via APIs and shows you daily weather updates on your phone. FORS offers an API service to vetted subscribers under contractual obligations of security, confidentiality and data protection. This is the same information that is also available though the Operators Dashboards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is requesting FORS API data?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Third-parties such as audit companies, Operators (who can only see their own data) and the Data Controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What data is requested?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a range of operational data available, personal data can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment Company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drivers licence number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FORS training record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operators Address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How is this data used?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This data is used to monitor the service FORS provides, manage Operator audits and enable subscribers to check the certification of Operators and Drivers under the FORS accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These subscribers become Data Controllers for this data once it is sent to them and further details of who these subscribers are can be obtained from FORS if required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"share-data-with-others\">When might we share your personal data with other organisations within the Sopra Steria Group?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Our group systems are hosted in France. Your personal data may be transmitted to, stored, and processed in France. Dormant means that a company (or other body) is no longer an active member of FORS. For dormant members, membership data will be retained but anonymised after 12 months of becoming dormant. Within 12 months of becoming dormant, FORS retains the right to contact you with company updates,&nbsp;marketing and\/or sales messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FORS Professional or FORS Approved training records will be retained for the validity of the course and for 24 months after the validity of the training expires or as long as the training account is active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training accounts will be held for as long as any training record is valid and for 24 months after.
