\"\"Ninety-six per cent of delegates who attended the FORS-funded FORS Professional Safe Urban Driving (SUD) and Van Smart (VS) courses in 2021 stated in a recent survey that the training had positively changed their attitudes towards vulnerable road users (VRUs).<\/p>\n

In addition to this positive feedback, ninety-four per cent of delegates indicated that their understanding of the issues faced by VRUs had improved as a result of the training, with a further ninety-seven per cent agreeing that they will give more consideration to the issues faced by VRUs.<\/p>\n

FORS Professional SUD and VS, which are Driver CPC accredited, include a theory and on-cycle  element, providing the drivers with the opportunity to view the road from a cyclist\u2019s point of view. SUD or VS is mandatory for drivers at Silver \u2018S5 Professional development\u2019 as part of the training on road risk and the safety of vulnerable road users.
