FORS Professional manager webinars
What is a webinar?
A webinar is a virtual event that is delivered online – it can be live or recorded. It is an educational or instructive session that includes audio and visual communication between a speaker and attendees. Webinar software enables the sharing of slides and interactive participation through chat boxes and Q&A features for example.

How can I register/attend a webinar?
Dates and timings of webinars can be found this this page. Click on the date and webinar you would like to attend to register. Registration only take a few minutes. For discounted webinars where there is a charge, no payment will be taken at that point.
You will receive a confirmation email with full details and explanations on how to download the webinar platform once your registration is processed.
How can I log in/join the webinar?
You will receive a confirmation email with full details on how to download the GoToWebinar platform. You must download the platform prior to the event as this takes a little bit of time. You only need to download the platform once. Once downloaded, all you need to do is click on the link on the date and time you are due to attend – this information is provided in the confirmation email to join the webinar. We suggest you log in approximately 10 mins prior to the webinar starting to give you plenty of time to be set up before the event.
What equipment do I need?
You can attend the webinar through a computer, laptop, mobile or tablet, although we strongly recommend that you use a computer or laptop. You will preferably need a microphone so you can interact with the trainer during the Q&A session.
You don’t need a video as the trainer will interact with members only through microphone not the video. A headset is not necessary although it does make the experience more relaxing and is probably better if you share the household with others.
Can people see me during the webinar?
No, the GoToWebinar platform does not use video.
Do I need to interact?
The trainer can see who is logged in and you can grab his attention by ‘waving a hand’ during the webinar. The trainer will try and answer questions at the end of the webinar, or during if possible, depending on the number of delegates attending.
The trainer will ask to interact with the delegates during the webinar, asking delegates to introduce themselves for example and possibly to discuss a specific topic if time allows
Do I need to fill-in a feedback form?
Yes, we ask that you complete one after each webinar. We will email this to you after the webinar so you can complete and submit your answers.
How does FORS monitor attentiveness to the training?
The GoToWebinar platforms produces a report after each webinar giving to attendance and interaction of each member. Delegates must achieve 80% attentiveness in order for attendance to be uploaded to the FORS Professional training register for that webinar. Please do not be tempted to answer emails or do other work during the webinar as the platform will know that you were not paying full attention, and this will be reflected in the score and final attentiveness report.
Will attendance to the webinar count towards my FORS Professional training?
Yes, attendance to a webinar counts towards FORS Professional training. However, in order for attendance to a webinar to be added to the FORS Professional training register, and to count towards your FORS Practitioner qualification for FORS Practitioner webinars, you must meet the minimum attentiveness criteria of 80% by remaining logged in and engaged for the full duration of the webinar and complete the feedback form after the workshop.
Is there a test at the end of the webinar?
No, there is currently no test at the end of the webinar. However, FORS will be monitoring the webinar for attentiveness through the GoToWebinar platform. You must remain logged in, and engaged, for the full duration of the webinar and complete the feedback form after the workshop.
Does the webinar cover the same content as the classroom course?
Yes, the webinars currently replace the classroom courses and have been adapted to meet the same learning objectives.
How much does it cost to attend a discounted FORS Professional webinar?
FORS Professional discounted webinars are: Collision Management, HGV and PCV Fleet Management Essentials and Car and Van Fleet Management Essentials. They are charged at £50 + VAT and payment will need to be made prior to the training taking place. Payment is however not taken through the GoToWebinar platform and the FORS team will be in touch to take payment over the phone. We regret that training cannot be attended unless payment is received prior to the discounted webinar taking place and failure to pay means that the registration will be cancelled.
How long do the webinars last?
Each FORS Practitioner webinar lasts around two hours and attendance will count towards the FORS Practitioner qualification, which requires members to complete all 10 FORS Practitioner workshops.
Collision Management lasts four hours, from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm with one-hour lunch break.
Fleet Management Essentials lasts three and a half hours, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.
What happens when I attend my last Practitioner webinar?
We will send members who have attended all 10 workshops, either classroom or webinar, an online certificate to confirm they have qualified as a FORS Practitioner. It is also helpful for members to write in the comment box on the feedback form issued via email after the webinar that it is their last workshop.
It is important that the details provided when registering for the webinar are the details of the person attending the webinar. Training records will be uploaded for the person registered and attending, and details will be checked against the driving licence.
If the webinar is fully booked, can I add myself on the waiting list?
Unfortunately GoToWebinar does not offer the possibility to add your name to a waiting list, please check the eNews for more dates to be release.
Please contact email@example.com for any training queries.
