Multi-Factor Authentication

With the ever-increasing risk of cyberattacks, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra safeguarding measure that significantly strengthens our security by requiring two forms of verification before granting access to your account.

Why MFA?

  • MFA adds an additional layer of protection by requiring not just your password, but also a second form of verification.
  • MFA is widely used across many platforms and is considered best practice in cybersecurity. As best practice is at the heart of what we do, introducing MFA is the right thing to do for FORS.

What to Expect:

  • When you log in to your FORS Online account, you’ll be prompted to set up MFA.
  • You can choose to use an Authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) or receive a code via email. Select the option that works best for you and follow the instructions.
  • Every seven days, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity via MFA when logged into FORS Online.

How to Set Up MFA for the first time:

  • When you log in to your FORS Online account you will be given two options:
    • app (Recommended) or email.
  • If you choose the email option:
    • a code will be sent to your email address which you will need to enter on the FORS Online log in screen.
  • If you choose the app option:
    • scan the onscreen QR code using an authenticator app.
    • Enter the code you received on the screen to set up the app.

The next time you log in after setting up MFA:

  • Choose between app or email.
  • If using the app: enter the code from your authenticator app (no QR code needed).
  • If using email, check your inbox for your code.
