FORS Silver Accreditation?
FORS Silver is the second level of FORS accreditation. It builds on Bronze by requiring operators to monitor performance, reduce risks, and improve fuel efficiency, safety, and environmental impact.
How is FORS Silver different from Bronze?
Silver includes all the requirements of Bronze, plus additional standards like:
- Monitoring fuel, emissions and collisions
- Fitting safety equipment for vulnerable road users (VRUs)

- Supporting WRRR and CLOCS compliance

Do I need FORS Bronze before applying for Silver?
Yes. You must be Bronze accredited before applying for Silver. Silver builds on the foundations of Bronze.
What do WRRR and CLOCS mean?
- WRRR (Work-Related Road Risk) is a set of safety requirements for operators in sectors like construction.
- CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) is a national standard for managing work-related road risk in construction supply chains.

What vehicles need additional safety equipment for Silver?
HGVs and other vehicles over 3.5 tonnes typically need equipment to protect vulnerable road users, such as side guards, cameras, sensors and audible warning systems.

You must have an ongoing training plan and keep records of completed:
- FORS Professional eLearning modules
- Driver CPC (where applicable)
- Manager training for your responsible person

Do I need to report emissions or performance data?
Yes. You’ll need to monitor fuel usage, emissions, and collision data, and show how you’re working to improve those metrics over time.

How do I upgrade to FORS Silver?
Once you are FORS Bronze accredited, you can upgrade to FORS Silver by logging into your account and applying through your dashboard. You will need to complete an online application and submit evidence.
How long does FORS Silver accreditation last?
FORS Silver is valid for 12 months. You must renew annually by submitting up-to-date evidence that you are still meeting the requirements.
How much does FORS Silver accreditation cost?
Costs depend on your fleet size and whether you’re using consultancy support. You can check current fees on the FORS pricing and fees page.
What happens if my Silver application is rejected?
You will be given feedback and time to address any issues. Once corrected, you can resubmit your application.
Can I go straight to FORS Silver or FORS Gold?
No, FORS Bronze is a mandatory first step. You must achieve and maintain Bronze before applying for Silver or Gold.
