Using FORS accredited hire companies to sub-contract drivers or vehicles gives you peace of mind and demonstrates to your customers and supply chain your commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
Under the new accreditation, FORS members choosing to hire vehicles or drivers from companies with FORS Vehicle or Driver Hire accreditation will know the vehicles and drivers meet FORS Bronze or Silver requirements and are in line with their own best practice standards.
For Silver operators, using FORS accredited hire companies ensures you meet the FORS Standard requirement ‘S9 Sub-contracted services’.
FORS Hire accreditation is a new type of FORS Associate status, whereby only the vehicles or drivers are assessed for compliance. To qualify, hire companies must undertake an audit to prove that their drivers and vehicles meet the mandatory FORS requirements. This means that vehicles are equipped with the FORS mandatory safety equipment and are maintained and managed to the relevant FORS requirements and that drivers have completed the mandatory FORS Professional training requirements as well as undergone the mandatory FORS health and licence checks.
