FORS Bronze accreditation just the beginning for Moy Park

  • Moy Park has secured FORS Bronze accreditation at its Anwick site in Lincolnshire
  • The business intends to replicate the success across 10 further sites by the end of the year
  • The Northern Ireland-based food company boasts 80 years of agricultural heritage, and is the region’s largest private sector business
  • “Gaining FORS accreditation enables us to take things to the next level” – Sarah O’Neill, fleet maintenance & compliance lead

Award-winning food company, Moy Park, has secured its first FORS Bronze accreditation at its Anwick site in Lincolnshire.

According to the Northern Ireland-based operator, this is just the first step in its FORS journey. The business, which supplies branded and own-label fresh poultry products throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and Europe, has set its sights on achieving FORS Bronze across its other 10 operating sites in Northern Ireland and Great Britain by the end of 2023.

“Our mission at Moy Park is to strive to be the best of the best in everything we do”, explains Moy Park Fleet Maintenance and Compliance Lead, Sarah O’Neill.

“We already demonstrate a high level of compliance across our fleets when it comes to crucial elements such as safety, training, fleet maintenance and operator license requirements, but gaining FORS accreditation enables us to take things to the next level. Aligning ourselves with FORS will help foster a culture of continuous improvement within our fleet teams, solidifying our commitment to best practice through robust company procedures.”

For David Kay, fleet health & safety and driver training lead, FORS accreditation will also help to bolster Moy Park’s training offering:

“Training is an integral part of Moy Park’s business, so the opportunity for drivers to progress through additional training as part of FORS’ training package is invaluable. We have already seen a positive response from our drivers at Anwick; it makes them feel valued and invested in as professionals. We strive to be the employer of choice in our sector, and FORS shows that we are backing it up with action.”

Alongside the myriad of internal benefits of FORS accreditation, a key part of Moy Park’s rationale is to lead by example and drive up standards in its supply chains. According to O’Neill, the business is therefore already preparing for its FORS Silver audit at Anwick, where it operates a fleet of 66 trucks and 130 trailers.

“We see this as just the beginning of our FORS journey,” concludes O’Neill. “As a business that aims to lead by example, we see FORS as an effective vehicle to achieve our own operational goals, but also to encourage higher standards from our supply chains”.
