Brigade’s camera monitoring system keeps an eye on vulnerable road users

The FORS Annual Conference is a pivotal event for the transport sector, attracting professionals committed to upholding best practice in commercial vehicle operations. With the 2025 theme of ‘Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow,’ the conference will deliver in-depth insights on innovation and technology in fleet management, professional development and training, safety and risk management, and mental health and wellbeing.

“The evolution of FORS and its recommendations in Version 7 of the FORS Standard acknowledges the remarkable progress in our collision avoidance technology,” said Emily Hardy, UK Marketing Manager at Brigade Electronics. “We’re proud to offer advanced solutions that not only meet but exceed the requirements of the FORS Standard, while making roads safer for everyone. We’re delighted to be supporting FORS at its annual conference – a fantastic opportunity for like-minded operators and organisations to come together.”

Brigade Electronics is a founding Associate of FORS and remains at the forefront of fleet safety technology in its own right. The company’s long-standing collaboration with the scheme highlights a shared dedication to advancing road safety, efficiency and promoting best practice across the transport sector.

Brigade’s Front Radar System features dual-radar technology to meet UN Regulation 159

With the introduction of Version 7 of the FORS Standard, Brigade continues to play a critical role in helping operators achieve compliance through evolving safety recommendations, including alignment with UN Regulation 151 and 159; criteria that align with the latest EU benchmarks, and also the UK’s Direct Vision Standard.

Key innovations from Brigade at the conference will include Radar Predict, an AI-driven system designed to prevent collisions between HGVs and vulnerable road users and help saving lives. By employing sophisticated algorithms, Radar Predict meets the requirements of UN Regulation 151 and provides real-time risk prediction, helping to minimise false alerts and reduce driver overload. Brigade’s Front Radar System features dual-radar technology to meet UN Regulation 159. The technology provides drivers with a comprehensive 180° detection angle at the front of their vehicles, often crucial in urban environments.

Brigade has a range of solutions to interface seamlessly with leading telematics providers like Geotab and Webfleet, giving fleet managers access to valuable data, video footage and analytics for improved compliance and oversight. In-cab camera and monitoring systems utilise cutting-edge video analytics to identify driver drowsiness, distraction and fatigue, while providing alerts to drivers and fleet managers to proactively address road risks.
