UK Government releases Clean Air Zone vehicle checker

UK Government releases Clean Air Zone vehicle checker

The introduction of air quality measures within UK towns and cities is having a significant impact on FORS members and the wider freight industry.

With many local authorities such as Leeds and Birmingham preparing to roll out Clean Air Zones (CAZ) in 2020, the UK Government has released a checker to help fleet operators plan ahead. By answering a short questionnaire, you can find out if your vehicles meet the emissions standards and if you will need to pay to enter a specific zone.

To use the checker, you’ll need the registration number of the vehicle you want to drive into the CAZ. Please note, the service cannot check vehicles that are registered outside the UK.

Additionally, if you want to drive in London you should check if you need to pay to drive in the Ultra Low Emission Zone on the Transport for London (TfL) website.

You can check out the new CAZ checker here.
