FORS to host online manager training courses

In order to allow members to undertake manager training despite government restrictions on movement currently in place, all FORS Professional classroom-based training courses will now be held as live, online webinars.

FORS Professional Practitioner workshops, FORS Professional Car and Van Fleet Management Essentials, FORS Professional HGV/PCV Fleet Management Essentials, and FORS Professional Collision Management have been adapted to suit the online format and will still provide participants with the opportunity to interact and ask questions.

Initially rolled out for members with places booked onto classroom manager training, the live webinars will mostly take place on the dates originally scheduled. FORS will soon be sending out invitations to those with places booked, including those whose training has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, so look out for these. Places will be offered to the remainder of the FORS membership once demand has been established.

Each FORS Practitioner webinar will last around two hours and attendance will count towards the FORS Practitioner qualification, which requires members to complete all 10 FORS Practitioner workshops.

Collision Management will last around four hours, with one module in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Fleet Management Essentials will last around four hours – exact timings and format to be confirmed.

The cost to attend discounted training for Collision Management and Fleet Management Essentials has been reduced to £50 per person.

FORS appreciates that members may struggle to attend any online training of course given the difficult situation facing everyone at the moment but would encourage those who can to make the most of this opportunity to continue with their professional development online. Whilst audits and downgrades are suspended, attendance to online training will still count towards meeting the FORS requirements and help with FORS accreditation in the future.

FORS has currently cancelled all face-to-face training until the end of June and if you cannot attend the webinars, there will be no cancellation charge but please note that payment for any discounted training will need to be made prior to the training taking place. Refunds are being issued for all cancelled training.
