FORS is providing an update on recent government and industry announcements, advice and guidance, to help members stay on top of the ongoing Coronavirus situation.

Recent updates include:

  • Information issued by JAUPT on the remote delivery of Driver CPC stating plans to allow approved periodic trainers temporary authorisation to deliver approved courses remotely via digital platforms
  • The Senior Traffic Commissioner updated advice for Heavy Goods (HGV) and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Operators on the way they carry out their regulatory duties during this period
  • The DVLA updated guidance which offers applicants detailed advice on how to submit an application amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis
  • Traffic Commissioners for Britain issued guidance for operator licensing, local bus service registration and vocational driver conduct
  • New online and free Toolbox Talk on the Coronavirus situation launched by FORS Associate Road Skills to provide transport managers and directors with a management tool to help brief, educate and remind their drivers and staff about basic hygiene steps to protect themselves from infection
  • New ‘COVID-19 Transport Toolkit’ launched by FORS Affinity Partner FleetCheck in collaboration with Driving For Better Business comprised of a series of short videos to help fleet operators and business owners navigate these new challenges
